A Proud Day! BRIXHAM STATION and GUILD feature in the Annual RNLI Awards 2003 Our Station Admin Officer Tony Smith was awarded the RNLI Gold Badge. This is the highest award made to operational personnel (the shore support team) and this is a 'first' for Torbay. Also Malcolm Cooke - one of our Deputy Launch Authorities received a statuette to mark ten years in this role. These awards together with the Jubilee Medal to a number of the crew and a shield to David Ham were presented by the Mayor at Torre Abbey on Thursday 31st July 2003.
The Brixham Guild has been awarded an RNLI Branch Award for its efforts in raising funds. The award is an engraved 'Gavel Set' which the Chairman will no doubt enjoy using! These were presented at the Annual Dedication Service on 31st August 2003.
