Location of Casualty Hollicombe

Service Both lifeboats launched to assist in search and provide support searching for a

possible suicidal person. A short while after launch the person was located by

shore teams. Search stood down and lifeboats returned to station.

Location of Casualty Corbyn Head and Livermead

Service Both lifeboats launched following reports of two youths waving for assistance

and probably cut off by the tide. Youths apparently made it to safety without

assistance but detailed sweep carried out by both lifeboats in view of the strong

wind an sea conditions.

Location of Casualty Below Berry Head South Fort

Service Launched following a report of three climbers at the waters edge apparently

waving and shouting for assistance. ILB found three climbers in full control of

their climb. False alarm with good intent - ILB returned to station.

Location of Casualty Berry Head

Service ILB launched following a report that two people appeared trapped on the

water line at Berry Head and were unable to make higher ground. ILB located

a number of climbers undergoing training exercises. All OK - returned to station

Location of Casualty Meadfoot Beach

Service As the ILB was being recovered following an exercise HM Coastguard received

a '999' call regarding a missing teenager. ILB tasked to Meadfoot but was

stood down just before arriving on scene when the teenager was found.

Location of Casualty Breakwater Beach

Service A member of the public reported directly to the station that a swimmer

appeared to be in difficulty hanging on to a five knot marker buoy off

Breakwater Beach. Station team checked and imitated an ILB launch. The

Station Coxswain ran to the beach and entered the water swimming

approximately 200 yards to the casualty and assisted him. The ILB and Oscar IV

arrived shortly afterwards. Casualty transferred to an awaiting paramedic and

ambulance ashore.. He was suffering from exhaustion otherwise OK

Location of Casualty 200 yards off Torre Abbey Sands

Service The yacht 'Lady Ann' observed a cheap inflatable with two persons on board

and advised HMCG. Inflatable apparently attempting to paddle to Paignton.

ILB launched to advise inflatable of error of their ways. Occupants taken back

to shore by the ILB.

Location of Casualty Line between Brixhama and Paignton Pier

Service Following a report to HM Coastguard of a red flare between Brixham and

Paignton by a member of the public the ILB was launched to check the area.

All investigations found nothing untoward resulting in the conclusion of a false

alarm with good intent

Location of Casualty Torre Abbey Sands

Service Diverted from exercise to attend a 14 year old swimmer in difficulty.at Torre

Abbey Sands. ILB arrived on scene and confirmed all under control. ILB

released to return to station.

Additional Notes Oscar IV recovered casualty and delivered her to Haldon Pier and an awaiting

ambulance.
