110 Years later - 2006

The RNLI are hoping to re-establish a D-Class station to serve the River Dart for the summer of 2007

 February 2007

A Site has been proposed for the new ILB Station - understood to be Coronation Park.

July 2007

Planning Permission granted for 5 years - old Tennis Pavilion on Coronation Park to be replaced by a purpose built but temporary boat house for a D Class lifeboat, office, crew area and small tractor. Crew training progressing and station should be operational for the early autumn 2007.

It will be interesting to record the costs of today's provision compared with the above.

25 October 2007

The Divisional Inspector permits operation to commence at the 'Dart Lifeboat Station'

7 November 2007

The new station has been built and a temporary D Class has been allocated. The station was accepted by the RNLI Trustees on 7th November and will be known as the 'Dart Lifeboat Station'.

2 August 2008
