Week - ALB on station for the start of the annual Brixham Yacht Club RNLI

Race. Shortly
before the start the ALB was tasked to a yacht with an injured lady
onboard. |

Initially the
yacht was 6 miles ESE of Berry Head. Crew put aboard and stabilised the
|
|
casualty and
escorted the yacht back to Torquay to an
awaiting ambulance. |

'Castaway' was apparently anchored off Scabbacoombe. She went aground

on the beach
around 02:00 and called HM Coastguard. ALB and Coastguard teams went to

their assistance
but the tide dropped leaving her high and dry on the beach. The occupants
|
|
were safe. ALB
returned to station. |
