Towards midnight
on Monday evening a crew member on the 8 metre yacht 'Skidu' suffered
|
|
injuries. At the
time the yacht was south west of Portland Bill on passage to Dartmouth.
|
|
Weymouth
lifeboat attended placing crew members aboard and the casualty was
evacuated |
|
by the Solent
Coastguard Helicopter. In view of the strong SE wind the yacht was
escorted |
|
further into
Lyme Bay and the Torbay lifeboat tasked to take over the escort duty. The
|
|
Weymouth crew
were recovered and Torbay crew members took their place. The yacht was
|
|
escorted and
assisted into Brixham at 05:00 |
|
Additional

Weymouth
lifeboat returned to station around 06:00. |
