Location of Casualty Kilmorie

Service Tasked following report of a young man who had suffered a cliff fall and in a serious condition in the

vicinity of Kilmorie Flats. Crew GP taken ashore from the ALB via ILB to attend to the casualty.

Casualty transferred via ILB to ALB and then onward to Torquay Harbour and an awaiting Ambulance.

Additional Notes Rescue Helo 106 from Portland attended however visibility at Torbay Hospital restricted operation

Service Launched following a report of Kayaker in the sea for some time and unable to recover. Casualty

recovered to the ALB and in need of medical attention. Casualty transferred to Torquay Harbour

where they were met by an Ambulance.

Service Tasked following reports of a young person on a boogie board apparently waving for assistance in

fairly choppy sea conditions. In the event the young person was fine and paddled ashore unaided.

Both lifeboats were released to return to station.

Service Tasked following report of a small vessel run aground at Corbyn Head - Police in attendance

together with HMCG - assumption vessel was stolen and two individuals observed running off.

Vessel returned to Torquay Harbour by the lifeboat.

Additional Notes Other vessels in Torquay Harbour had possibly been tampered with.

Location of Casualty 17 Miles ESE of Berry Head

Service Tasked to the yacht 'Sea Hawk' with three people on board taking water and suffering bilge pump

failure. Water levels just being held below the floor boards by bucket bailing. ALB salvage pump put

to immediate use. Yacht towed to Dartmouth assisted by continuous pumping. Yacht lifted at Dart

Haven Marina for investigation. - A long day at sea.

Additional Notes Two other yachts - 'Flying Colours' & 'Two Boys' - stood by pending the Lifeboat arrival

Service Tasked following reports of 'Red Flares' in the vicinity of Torquay - search carried out from Livermead

to Walls Hill and the sea area between. Cartridges located on shore. Various confusing incidents

but nothing found. ALB released to return to station.

Location of Casualty 0.5 mile East of Brixham Breakwater

Service Tasked to a 38 ft Ketch taking water. Numerous vessels attended prior to the ALB arriving on scene.

Salvage pump supplied by Oscar IV assisted in reducing water levels prior to the ALB taking her

into Brixham Harbour under tow.

Additional Notes Subsequently found the prop shaft slid back out of the stern tube allowing water ingress.

Location of Casualty Meadfoot Beach Area

Service Tasked following report of a possible cliff faller in the Meadfoot area - extensive search carried out

between London Bridge and Thatcher Rock but no one sighted. 'Y' Boat deployed and Crew put

ashore at various times with no result. Casualty believed to be communicating by SMS. ALB

returned to Seven Quarries and continued search until stood down. Subsequently defined as a Hoax

- Police investigating

Additional Notes Devon Air Ambulance and the Police Helicopter also assisted as well as HM Coastguard.

Service Tasked to locate and recover a speed boat with two people on board that had apparently run out of

fuel. The speed boat was located and returned under tow to Torquay Harbour.

Additional Notes PanPan raised at 18:30 following information from Torquay Harbour. No response and some

confusion re location.

Service The single handed yacht 'Jane Irene' issued a MayDay following issues with her anchor. Rescue

Helo 106 in the vicinity maintained observations pending arrival of the ALB. The Yacht was returned

under tow to Brixham Harbour.

Location of Casualty Breakwater Beach

Service Launched following report of a diver apparently in difficulty. Report developed overtime to indicate a

diver maybe on the bottom lying face down. Extensive surface searches carried out pending arrival of

the Police Dive team. Lifeboats released around 14:00.

Additional Notes Rescue Helo 106 also joined the search and stood by pending any requirement to transport a person

to the Dive Centre.
