Incident Date 01-Jun-18 Ready for Service Date 01-Jun-18 Launch Instruct 19:00 Ready for Service Time 21:25 Launch Time 19:00 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 18 Coxswain Richard Fowler Mechanic Nigel Crang Location of Casualty Possibly Elberry Cove to Preston Service The ALB was departing on exercise when their assistance was called on to carry out a shoreline search from Elberry to Paignton initially extending towards Livermead. The ALB carried out a very detailed search in both directions before returning to station. Additional Notes
Incident Date 01-Jun-18 Ready for Service Date 01-Jun-18 Launch Instruct 10:40 Ready for Service Time 12:33 Launch Time 10:50 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 17 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Simon James Location of Casualty Mansands - Southern end Service The ALB was launched following various reports of a yacht aground and seriously listing to the South of Mansands towards Scabbacombe. Investigations into the circumstances of the grounding continuing with others. Shore line search carried out before returning to station with one casualty where they were met by an Ambulance. Additional Notes HM Coastguard checking the coastline from Mansands to Scabbacombe
Incident Date 31-May-18 Ready for Service Date 31-May-18 Launch Instruct 18:22 Ready for Service Time 21:24 Launch Time 18:33 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 16 Coxswain Richard Fowler Mechanic Simon James Location of Casualty 8 miles ESE of Berry Head Service Launched to a 29ft becalmed yacht, two persons on board,with engine failure. Yacht located using Direction Finder equipment. Two crew transferred to the yacht to establish a tow line. Yacht returned under tow to Brixham. Additional Notes Very poor visibility with extensive fog patches
Incident Date 30-May-18 Ready for Service Date 30-May-18 Launch Instruct 11:42 Ready for Service Time 12:55 Launch Time 11:53 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 15 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Simon James Location of Casualty Approx 200 metres North of Paignton Pier Service Both lifeboats launched to a 32ft Commercial Sailing vessel with six persons on board that had run aground to the North of Paignton Pier. Four casualties were transferred by the ILB to the ALB. The ALB then proceeded to Torquay Harbour where they were landed before the ALB returned to station. Additional Notes HM Coastguards and the Harbour launch also in attendance remaining on scene pending a refloat of the vessel
Incident Date 15-May-18 Ready for Service Date 15-May-18 Launch Instruct 12:16 Ready for Service Time 19:05 Launch Time 12:28 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 14 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Ashley McInally Location of Casualty 27 Miles SSE of Berry Head Service Launched to a 23ft Fishing Vessel suffering engine failure. The fishing vessel was taken in tow and returned to Torquay Harbour arriving shortly after 18:00. They were met by HM Coastguards. The ALB then returned to Brixham and refuelled before returning to station Additional Notes
Incident Date 03-May-18 Ready for Service Date 03-May-18 Launch Instruct 13:55 Ready for Service Time 16:10 Launch Time 14:06 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 13 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Ashley McInally Location of Casualty 4.5 miles NNE of Berry Head Service Launched to a 28ft yacht having been dismasted. Once the mast had been cut away and stowed safely the lifeboat returned her under tow to Brixham Harbour. Additional Notes
Incident Date 03-May-18 Ready for Service Date 03-May-18 Launch Instruct 03:17 Ready for Service Time 04:10 Launch Time 03:33 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 12 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Location of Casualty New Fish Quay, Brixham Service Launched to assist in the recovery of an injured fisherman from a vessel within the harbour. Casualty landed at the passenger pontoon and transferred to the care of HM Coastguard and SW Ambulance. Additional Notes The incident occurred shortly after low water making landing to shore difficult hence lifeboat transfer
Incident Date 14-Apr-18 Ready for Service Date 14-Apr-18 Launch Instruct 12:20 Ready for Service Time 14:02 Launch Time 12:25 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 11 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Ashley McInally Location of Casualty Shoalstone Service Both lifeboats launched to a local fishing boat that had grounded on rocks off Shoalstone. The ILB moved a crewman aboard the casualty vessel to assess the situation The ALB established a line to maintain a steady pull as the tide came in. The casualty vessel came free at approximately 13:30 and was escorted back to Brixham Harbour. Additional Notes		Click image to enlarge
Incident Date 12-Apr-18 Ready for Service Date 12-Apr-18 Launch Instruct 09:41 Ready for Service Time 10:51 Launch Time 09:55 All Weather Lifeboat (ALB) 2018 Shout Number 10 Coxswain Mark Criddle Mechanic Ashley McInally Location of Casualty 1 Mile NE of Berry Head Service Launched to a 15 metre fishing vessel with possible electrical problems and having anchored awaiting assistance. The ALB brought the fishing vessel under tow into Brixham Harbour before returning to station. Additional Notes Shortly after being brought into harbour the fishing vessel rectified the problem and returned to carry on fishing.
