Location of Casualty 1.6 Miles East of Blackpool Sands

Service The ALB was diverted from exercise following a MayDay Call from a yacht with two people on board.

The yacht was dismasted. The ALB attended and assisted Salcombe and Dart lifeboats to make

the yacht safe before she was towed by Salcombe Lifeboat back to Salcombe.

Additional Notes ALB on exercise diverted at 10:56.

Location of Casualty Meadfoot

Service Both lifeboats tasked following a report of two adults and a dog cut off on a rock a distance from

Meadfoot Beach. Casualties were assisted ashore by others and the lifeboats released to return to

station.

Additional Notes ALB luanched as 'cover' for the ILB in strong SW winds - Meadfoot conditions being 'rough'

Location of Casualty Kilmorie, Meadfoot

Service Both lifeboats tasked following report of a cliff faller near the Kilmorie Flats, Meadfoot. Casualty with

several injuries was attended by the lifeboat crew including a paramedic and recovered to road level

by the coastguard cliff rescue team to an awaiting ambulance. The ILB was used to transfer

equipment to the shore to assist recovery.

Additional Notes Portland Rescue Helicopter 106 stood by pending assessment of the injuries.

Location of Casualty Off Berry Head

Service The yacht 'Mother Goose' on passage from Brixham to Dartmouth observed smoke coming from the

engine box. She was under power with no sails rigged and called for assistance. The ALB launched

to her and returned them under tow to a mooring in Brixham Harbour.

Location of Casualty 13 miles ENE of Berry Head

Service Tasked to assist in a medical evacuation from the yacht 'Sheqel'. Due to the weather conditions it

was not possible to lift the casualty directly by Portland Helicopter Rescue 106. The casualty was

transferred to the ALB to complete the evacuation. Rescue Helicopter 106 then transferred the

casualty to Derriford Hospital for specialist treatment.

Location of Casualty 11 miles East of Start Point

Service Tasked to the 50 ft Yacht 'Esperance' becalmed with a fouled propeller eleven miles east of Start

Point. Returned under tow to Dart Harbour.

Location of Casualty 1 Mile SSW of River Dart entrance

Service Tasked the the 58 ft ex MFV 'Maryeard' with three people on board. The vessel reported engine

failure and was unable to anchor. The trawler was returned under tow to Dart Harbour.

Additional Notes On return passage contact was maintained with yacht 'Tantrum' again with engine problems but she

made it back to Brixham Harbour.

Location of Casualty Between Mansands and Scabbacombe

Service Tasked to the yacht 'Sea Saw' taking in water due to a stern gland failure. Lifeboat crew assisted in

making vessel safe and she was returned under tow to Dart Marina where she was lifted out for

examination and repair.

Additional Notes ILB out on exercise accompanied the ALB but was diverted to a shout - see ILB listing
